Best Answer: Strangely enough, this has been a shortcoming of Word for Mac for some years now (still in Word 2011, version 14.1.4). Even if you used Acrobat Distiller to create the PDF out of Word, the hyperlinks still won't work in the Preview application and also not in Skim. Only Acrobat Reader makes the hyperlinks clickable (probably because it detects hyperlinks on its own somehow), don't know about Foxit Reader. There seems to be no other workaround than to open the Word document in Apple's Pages (iWork) or one of the Open Office packs, and fix the links there, then save it as PDF from there.
