Open Outlook 2016 For Mac In Safemode

Microsoft Outlook safe mode is a feature that lets the email program launch with a limited set of features and no extensions to help you troubleshoot issues. Office 2016 for Mac with the latest updates installed (15.18 (160109)). We try to set up Outlook 2016 to connect to the end user's Exchange Mailbox. I cannot figure out why it's prompting for Kerberos even though that option is not selected in the account settings. Has anyone else run across this?
